What Happens to Bree and Roger's Son Jem in the Books of Outlander?

Season seven of Outlander came to an end this month, with events for the Fraser and MacKenzie families hanging in the balance.

Jamie and Claire were relieved to leave the American Revolutionary War when they were tasked with bringing a kinsman's body back to Scotland

But Roger and Bree's son Jem was abducted by one of Bree's co-workers.

After reading a box of Roger and Bree's letters from Jamie and Claire and discovering that wee Jem may know where the Jacobite gold is buried in America

Rob Cameron kidnapped Jem and took him back through the trusty stones at Craigh na Dun to retrieve the tantalizing treasure

If you're still reading, you'll be glad to know that Jem is alive and well in the Outlander books and not in the past.

Rob Cameron brings him to the tunnel under Loch Errochty, where a security guard finds him and is shot by Rob's accomplice.

Bree brings the kids to the Buchens' house to hide from Rob, but Rob soon arrives to ask about the Craigh na Dun stones while Bree is guarding Lallybroch with her shotgun.
